Calling all veteran rugby players! Prepare to experience the Malta Vets Rugby Tournament. Established in 2004 by Sundreams Travel in collaboration with the MRFU (Malta Rugby Football Union), this tournament has been a resounding success, attracting teams from across Europe and forging lasting friendships along the way.
Malta, with its ideal weather, excellent facilities, and friendly rugby community, is the perfect destination for your rugby tour. Add to that a vibrant atmosphere and an abundance of entertainment options, all set in the bustling seaside town of St Julian’s, where we place all teams for their stay.
The tournament kicks off with a lively social gathering, designed to break the ice and set the right mood. Enjoy delicious food and three pints of the local brew as you mingle with fellow rugby enthusiasts, creating bonds to set the right mood for the event.
On Saturday, the tournament takes center stage with shortened games played in 15s format for teams aged 35 years and older. Each team participates in exciting matches with 10 minutes each way. Over the course of the afternoon, teams typically play between 3 to 5 games. The action-packed day concludes with an on-pitch presentation and, of course, the customary 3rd half including snack food and some pints.
In the evening, we provide a warm-up venue. Here, you’ll be treated to a delightful spread of food and three pints, fueling your energy for the night ahead and ready to hit St Julian’s in fancy dress, where rugby gentlemen in their creative costumes become the celebrities of Malta’s nightlife quarter for one unforgettable evening.
Sunday is the day for adventure and relaxation. Choose from a variety of activities organized by our experienced team. Set sail on a boat trip, embark on an exciting excursion, savor a delectable fish lunch, or enjoy a thrilling watersport party. The choice is yours, and we’ll ensure that every moment is filled with excitement and fun.

k) NEW - Fish feast by the caves, this tour starts with a visit of Mdina, the old capital city tasting the famous local pastizzi from Tas-Serkin in Rabat on the way, then you proceed to Wiedi z-Zurrieq where you will (weather permitting) board a small boat to visit the fascinating caves at Blue Grotto. Finally you will be dropped at Ghar Lapsi where you will enjoy a sumptuous meal made out of local fresh fish including water, wine, sorbet coffee & digestive - €74 per person (€8 refund if the boat trip to caves is not operational)
l) NEW - Village band club tour with special power hats includes game host, drinks and transport. This is a 5 hour tour which will take you around some traditional local villages visiting the band clubs where you will be treated to drinks and games by your host all night which will continuously introduce special powers to hats. A great night not to be missed - €35 per person
